Thin Provisioning
With QUADStor Storage Virtualization, administrators create virtual LUNs (VDisk(s)) which are thin provisioned. A VDisk with a capacity up to 64 TB can be created irrespective of the available capacity in the underlying storage. As underlying storage capacity is utilized, additional capacity can be provisioned on a need basis
SAN / NAS Data Deduplication
With fast inline deduplication algorithms, duplicate data present in incoming write requests is identified and never stored. Duplicate data is eliminated on the fly with the option of byte per byte verification of duplicate data. With archival data, storage utilization can be reduced by as much as 90% and by about 40% with primary data. Read more
File-System Independent Primary Storage Data Deduplication
Data deduplication is provided at the disk layer and hence file systems created on top of the VDisk automatically support data deduplication. Data deduplication is transparent to the file system whether Ext3-4, NTFS etc.
Global Deduplication
Data are deduplicated across VDisks which basically means that duplicate data is identified from all VDisks and not just the VDisk which received write data.
Block level mirroring (Synchronous mirroring) and High availability
Support for synchronous mirroring of data between nodes with support for active-active failover
Shared Storage Clustering and High Availability (Enterprise Edition Only)
Support for clustering of nodes for high availability and active-active failover
Data Mirroring and Data Cloning
Clone virtual disks locally withing seconds and also mirror virtual disks to another machine
Data Compression
Storage utilization is reduced even further by enabling data compression. Compression rations between 1:2 and 1:4 can be achieved.
Easy of Management
Configuring storage, creating VDisks etc can be easily performed via a simple, easy to use HTML GUI. Tasks can be performed by just a few clicks.
Unified Storage
VDisks can be accessed via Fiber Channel, iSCSI or locally. Locally accessible VDisks can be used to export CIFS and NFS shares.
vStorage APIs for Array Integration / VAAI
Support for vStorage APIs for Array Integration / VAAI has is now available. VAAI together with data deduplication gives more power to the storage array and reduces load on servers and network. Read more
Windows Server 2012 failover clusters
QUADStor synchronous mirroring technology combined with Server 2012 failover clustering technology for twice the benefits - High Availability Servers with High Availability Storage
Windows Server 2012 offloaded data transfers
With ODX support copy operations are offloaded to the storage array thereby reducing network bandwith requirements and improving IO performance significantly. Combined QUADStor's support for ODX technology and QUADStor's data deduplication technology, copy operations performance is increased ten-fold.
